What is the menstrual phase?
The shedding of the lining (Menstruation)
Lasts from day 1-5
What is the follicular phase?
Hormones are secreted for the pituitary gland to stimulate the growth of one egg. The egg begins to mature in the follicle. The follicle sends hormones to stimulate the development of the uterus lining. Lasts from day 1 - 13
What is the ovulation phase?
The matured egg is released into the Fallopian tube. On the 14th day
Luteal phase
Lasts day 15 - end of cycle
Egg stayed in Fallopian tube for 24 hours. If sperm does not penetrate it the egg disintegrates and hormones are sent to the uterus to cause it to shed lining

During ovulation
