- Thinning of vaginal epithelium
- Minimal trauma leads to bleeding
- Petechiea & brownish discharge
- Vaginal burning, soreness, dyspareunia, and a thin watery or serosanguineous discharge

- Cessation of menses 12 months
- Loss of follicular fxn
- Ave age = 51
- Assoc with vasomotor sx, sleep disturbances, vag. sx

HRT- Breast CA
A
- Contraindicated
- May stimulate growth of malignant cells, increasing risk of recurrence

HRT- Osteoporosis
A
- Use other agents first, only if can’t tolerate or already taking for menopause sx
- Low dose to prevent osteoporosis
