- FSH rises

A
'hot flushes' Vaginal dryness Low libido Muscle and joint aches Mood changes/poor memory

A
Reduced bone mineral density.

What is the treatment for menopause ?
A
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) Patch Gel PO Oestrogen if no uterus Oestrogen and Progesterone if uterus present to prevent endometrial hyperplasia.
Local vaginal oestrogen only:
Pessary/ring/cream

What are the contraindications for HRT ?
A
Hormone dependent cancer.
Active liver disease.
Un-investigated abnormal bleeding.
