2. The symptoms are similar to ‘flu’ and can be mistaken for it.

What are the symptoms of meningitis (8)

Answer 2

1. headache
2. neck or back stiffness
3. dislike of bright light
4. nausea and vomiting
5. irritability
6. drowsiness.
7. There is usually a skin rash (which may appear purple in colour) that does not disappear when a glass is pressed on it.
8. Anyone presenting with the above symptoms must be brought to the attention of your pharmacist immediately as they will require urgent referral.
