White working class boys are the largest underachieving group in education due to anti school subcultures.

Boys lag a year behind girls at reading in every industrialised country.
UCAS
- Women are 1/3 more likely to enter higher education than men. 134,097 women ages 19+ are accepted compared to 110,630 men.
- GCSE results show girls outperform boys, in 2013 A*-C pass rate for girls was 73.1% compared to 64.3% for boys.

Men in the U.K work an average 39 hours a week compared to 34 hours for women.

- Majority of fathers, mothers and teens believed the father should be the breadwinner.
- Fathers were under pressure to provide for their families.
Equal Opportunities Commission (2007)
- 89% of father are in employment compared to 74% of men without dependant children.
- UK fathers work the longest hours in Europe with 49.9 hours, 45.5 hours in Portugal and 41.5 hours in Germany.
- Fathers are less likely to work part-time (4%) than men without children (9%)
