Memory items AC Flashcards
Stall recovery
“Stall, I have control”
Pitch nose down (Reduce thrust if no nose down authority)
If below 20000’ and clean, select Flap 1
Wings level
When out of stall: increase thrust smoothly
Speed brakes check retracted
If clean below 20000’ select Flap1
Stall warning at liftoff
“Stall, Toga 15”
Select thrust levers to TOGA
Pitch 15 degrees
Wings level
Eng fail (high altitude cruise)
Thrust levers MCT
A/thr OFF
Speed sel Green Dot and pull (Ensure Spd Mode engaged)
Hdg Sel Turn and pull if req’d
Alt Sel set Max E/out or MEA and pull
(Max E/Out from Perf (Obstacle) or Prog (Standard))
Notify ATC
ECAM Actions
Choose descent strategy based on relight, time, obstacle clnc
QRH-Abn-Oceanic Diversion Engine Out
Note: Max E/Out PROG page is OEI gross ceiling at LRC, anti ice off
Note: Perf Max E/Out is drift down ceiling (Obstacle)
Loss of braking
“Loss of braking”
Max reverse (if req’d)
Release brake pedals
“Anti skid off” (PM turns Anti skid/Nose steering switch off)
Press brake pedals
Monitor max Brakes Press 1000psi
If still no braking:
Use short, successive park brake applications to stop
Unreliable Airspeed Indication
IF safe conduct of flight is impacted
“Unreliable speed”
AP off
A/THR off
FD off
< Thr Red Alt TOGA 15
Thr Red Alt > 10000’ CLB 10
> 10000’ CLB 5
Flaps 3 or less
Speedbrakes retracted
Gear up
Above MSA/Circuit Altitude level off for troubleshooting
To level off:
Apply Pitch/Thrust Table for Fin
(Stabilize altitude and watch Pitch, could be 3-7 degrees nose up, change thrust as required 55-90%)
GPWS Warning
(Any “Pull up” or “Avoid Terrain”, “Avoid obstacle”)
“Pull up, TOGA”
AP off
Full back side stick and hold
Thrust levers TOGA
Speedbrakes check retracted
Wings level, turn only if required
Do not change configuration until clear of obstacle
GPWS Caution
(Terrain, terrain. Too low, terrain. Caution, terrain. Caution, obstacle. Terrain ahead. Obstacle ahead.)
Night or IMC: EGPWS pull up maneuver
Day VMC with terrain/obstacle in sight:
Adjust flight path
“Sink rate” or “Glideslope”
Above 500’ AGL:
Adjust flight path
Below 500’ AGL:
Go around
(If conditions warrant a deliberate approach below glideslope: G/S mode Pb off)
“Don’t sink”
Don’t sink
🙃
“Too low gear” or “Too low flaps”
Go around
TCAS
TA then RA
TA “TCAS blue” or “TCAS I have control”
Check A/thr on
RA: if TCAS blue, autopilot off and follow FD
Monitor VS to keep out of red
If no TCAS Blue, autopilot off, Command FDs off and keep V/S out of the red
If any “Climb” announces during final approach: Perform Go around
PM “Rouge xxxx TCAS RA” then “Clear of conflict, returning to xxxxft”
Windshear
Takeoff:
Before V1, reject
After V1:
“Windshear, TOGA”
Thr levers TOGA
Rotate at Vr, follow SRS
If no FD bars, start at 17.5 pitch
May pull sidestick full back
Do not change configuration
Airborne:
“Windshear, TOGA”
Thr levers TOGA
If AP on, keep on and follow SRS
If necessary pitch above FD and stick full back
Emergency Descent
Rely on ECAM even if not confirmed on Cab Press SD page (different sensor)
O2 Mask dilution Norm (pull tab out)
If CAB PR Excess Cab Alt not shown: Descent initiated when confirmed Cabin Alt is excessive AND uncontrollable.
Loud bang or high Cabin V/S: structural damage. Select Spd Mode and maintain or reduce speed. Slowly use speed brakes.
May select Mask Man On Pb when it is obvious Cabin Alt will exceed 14000’
If outflow valve open select other CPC (Mode Sel Man for 10 secs and back to Auto). If outflow still not closing set Mode Sel to Man and V/S control to full down
“ECAM Actions Complete” -> QRH -> Misc -> Emer Descent
Descent from FL390 to 10000’ takes approx 4 min and 40nm (high speed)
MORA on ND is for 40nm around a/c
2000’ to go Select Speed 250kts and retract speed brakes
When removing mask, only need to close the doors and reset switch (don’t have to stow mask
