Starting the APU
Make sure cowl and wing AI switches are off

APU PWR FUEL switch………ON
- APU SOV OPEN status message
- APU IN BITE status momentarily
- APU RPM and EGT gagues displayed
- APU DOOR OPEN status message
- APU IN BITE status message out
-
APU, START/STOP Switch…….ON
- Start Light On
- APU START status message on
- Before 60% rpm - START light and APU START status message out
- NOTE: 99% rpm + 2 seconds AVAIL light on
-
AC and DC electrical power..CHECK
- Electrical Snynoptic Page
- Voltage, Frequency, and Load are in GREEN
- All AC and DC buses powered and lit green
- Battery Chargers operating on DC electrical synoptic page
- Bleed Source Switch.. As Required
- Bleed Valves Switch…As Required
Fire Detection System Test
- Push test button for two seconds and check
- FIRE SYS OK advisory message is on
- Both MASTER WARNING lights come on
- LH ENG FIRE PUSH light is on
- RH ENG FIRE PUSH light is on
- APU FIRE PUSH light comes on
- BOTTLE 1 ARMED - PUSH TO DISCH light is on
- BOTTLE 2 ARMED - PUSH TO DISCH light comes on
- (APU)BOTTLE ARMED - PUSH TO DISCH light is on
- FWD and AFT CARGO SMOKE PUSH lights on
- CARGO FIREEX, BOTTLE ARMED - PUSH TO DISCH light comes on
Your looking for 11 lights to light up, all associated with engine, APU, and the 3 lights on lower center console for the cargo
When do you run the Fire Test?
Prior to starting the APU on the first flight of the day. Make sure the battery master has been on for at least 30 seconds prior to starting test
Configuration Warnings
Takeoff….Discontinue immediately
refer to WARN tab for expanded procedures
Asymetric Braking / Loss of Braking
- Wheel brakes……Release momentarily
- ANTI-SKID switch….. OFF
- Wheel Brakes….. Reapply as Required
Refer to GEAR tab for expanded procedures
ENG OVERSPD
Affected thrust lever…. Confirm AND Idle
Refer to ENG tab for expanded procedures
Engine Hot Start
- Affected Thrust Lever….Shut off
- Dry motor…….Until ITT < 120c or starter limit, which ever comes first
- Affected engine, ENG STOPsw…. Stop
Refer to ENG tab for expanded procedures
L(R) Start Abort
- Affected Thrust Lever….Shut off
- Dry motor…….Until ITT < 120c or starter limit, which ever comes first
- Affected engine, ENG STOPsw…. Stop
- Affected engine Start….Repeat

Rejected Takeoff before Achieving V1
Simultaneously:
- Thrust Levers….IDLE
- Wheel Brakes….Maximum until a safe stop
- Thrust Reverser(s) [operating engine(s)]…Maximum, consistent with directional control

Stall Recovery
- Autopilot…Disengage, if required
- Pitch Attitude…Lower nose to reduce AOA
- Thrust Levers…Advance to MAX POWER wings lvl
- Flight Spoiler lever….Select to Retract
Rapid Decompression
- Oxygen masks….Don and 100%
- Crew Comms……Establish
Cabin ALT or Emergency Descent
- Oxygen Masks…..DON and 100%
- Crew Comms……Establish
- No SMKG & SeatBlts switch….ON
- Descent…….Initiate to 10,000 ft or lowest safe ALT
- Thrust Levers…..IDLE
- Flight Spoilers……Deploy

Ice Detector Test
- EICAS, PRI, and STAT pages….Select
- DET TEST Switch….SELECT AND HOLD
- ICE light ON
- ICE caution message ON
- ADS HEAT TEST OK advisory message ON
- DET TEST Switch……….RELEASE
- ICE light OUT
- ICE caution message OUT
- ADS HEAT TEST OK advisory message OUT
