Available
Take-off: Available 3 s after lift-off to 1300ft AGL
Approach: From 1300ft AGL to 50ft

A
If after V1: 
- PF announce: "windshear TOGA" 
- THR LEVERS ......... TOGA
- REACHING VR ........ ROTATE
- SRS ORDERS..... FOLLOW
if FDs are not available use 17.5 up to full back stick

Initial climb or landing:
- PF announce: “windshear TOGA”
- THR LEVERS AT TOGA…… SET OR CONFIRM
- AP (if engaged)…….. KEEP ON
- SRS ORDERS ……. FOLLOW
if FDs are not available use 17.5 up to full backstick

Maintain current configuration until out of shear

Engine failure in cruise, drift down procedure.

A

In Cruise:

  1. Set MCT
  2. A/THR OFF
  3. Sets a HDG as appropriate and pulls
  4. Determine engine out recovery alt (PROG page)
  5. Notify ATC

When read for descent:
Set SPEED M0.78/300KT and PULL
Sets ALT and pulls for OPEN DES.
6. ECAM actions

When V/S becomes <500FPM
V/S: SET -500FRPM and PULL
A/THR: ON

Drift down - obstacle

  1. Set MCT
  2. A/THR OFF
  3. Sets a HDG as appropriate and pulls
  4. Determine engine out recovery alt (PROG page)
  5. Notify ATC
  6. SPD: SET Green Dot SPEED and pull
  7. ALT: selected Cruise FL - pull

When obstacles are cleared - return to standard strategy.

NOTE: thrust is fixed at MCT, elevator controls speed

Stall Recovery

A

PF announce: “Stall, I have control”

Immediate actions:

  • pitch nose down
  • wings level

When out of stall:

  • increase thrust
  • check speedbrakes are retracted
  • recover flight path
  • if in clean configuration below 20,000’ select flap1

Unreliable Airspeed

A
  • PF announce: “unreliable airspeed”
  • A/P OFF
  • both FDs OFF
  • A/THR OFF

Pitch thrust:

  • below THR RED: TOGA 15
  • above THR RED below 10,000’: CLB 10
  • above 10,000’: CLB 5

Configuration:

  • if config 0-3: maintain current config
  • if config FULL: select config 3 and maintain
  • speedbrakes check retracted
  • L/G select UP
  • When at or above MSA or cruise altitude: level off for troubleshooting

Unreliable speed indication/ADR Check QRH check list:

  • PITCH/THRUST for initial level off
  • Isolate the faulty ADR (Compare GPS GS on ND with IAS on PFD)

If “TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP” or “OBSTACLE OBSTACLE PULL UP” or “TERRAIN AHEAD PULL UP” aural alter, a turning manoeuvre can be initiated if safest action. PULL UP manoeuvre must be performed first before turn allowed.
(HTK/HTJ) IF “AVOID TERRAIN” alert follows “TERRAIN AHEAD PULL UP” then flight must adjust bank. If alert generated whilst wings level, then obstacle ahead. If alert generated whilst turning, then obstacle in turning trajectory.

Pilot Incapacitiation

A

During Take-off roll:

  • Below 100 knts = STOP
  • Above 100 knts and below V1, assess conditions, consider stop vs go.

Airborne:

  • Take Control and push side stick disc P/B for 40 secs
  • Aviate, Navigate, Communicate, FMA. Above MSA?
  • Mayday/Pan Pan
  • PA “Attention, Senior Purser to cockpit please”
  • Move seat fully aft/reclined and lock shoulder harness
  • Request Medical Assistance (both onboard and IOC)
  • Request any other pilot onboard
  • Land as soon as practicable, arrange medical assistance

Request radar vectoring and plan for long straight in approach, prepare earlier, and read checklist with SP.
