Memory Items Flashcards
Cabin high altitude
Oxygen masks - flight crew don
Crew communication - establish
PACKS AND AIR SUPPLY - confirm on

If control not regained, PRESSURIZATION - MAN - attempt to control all the way to SHUT if necessary
1.04
Emergency Descent after Pressurization Failure
Emergency Descent - Announce
Thrust Levers - Flight idle
TMS - DISC
Target speed - Announce - MMO/VMO or 0.6 M/240 kt
If structural integrity in doubt, do not exceed 0.6 M/240 kt and limit “g”
Airbrake - Out
Oxygen masks - confirm donned and crew communications established. Establish flight at 10,000 ft or the lowest safe altitude if higher
1.05
APU Fire
APU AIR - OFF
APU - STOP
APU FIRE EXT - DISCH
Land as soon as possible
On ground, if APU FIRE remains lit and fire is confirmed: if possible, keep aircraft facing into wind
EVACUATE
3.02
Freight Door Unlocked
Oxygen masks - crew don
Crew communications - establish
Pressurization - check
Do not attempt to hydraulically close the freight door latches in flight
4.06
Engine Fire/Seperation or Severe Damage
Relevant Thrust Lever - confirm, then IDLE, then FUEL OFF
Relevant FIRE HANDLE - Pull to baulk
Relevant MWP ENG FIRE HANDLE caption - Confirm lit
RELEVANT FIRE HANDLE - Pull to full extent, rotate fully to EXT 1
Check ENG EXT #1 USED annunciator lit
If annunciator not lit, rotate HANDLE to EXT 2
If FIRE caption still lit after 30 secs or there are other signs of fire:
Relevant FIRE HANDLE - Rotate fully to EXT 2
Check ENG EXT #2 USED annunciator lit
Land as soon as possible
On ground, if ENG FIRE remains lit and fire is confirmed: If possible, keep the aircraft facing into wind
EVACUATE
6.03
Engine Failure or In-flight Shutdown
Relevant Thrust Lever - Confirm, then IDLE, then Fuel OFF
Relevant Fire Handle - Pull to baulk
Relevant MWP ENG FIRE HANDLE Caption - Confirm lit
Relevant FIRE HANDLE - Pull to full extent
If engine damage is suspected:
Relevant FIRE HANDLE - Rotate to discharge EXT 1
6.03
Total Loss of All Engines at Very Low Altitude
PF - Left Seat Pilot:
Airspeed - Glides at VFTO + 30 KT
Landing area - Select
Gear and Flaps - As required
PNF - Right Seat Pilot:
Thrust Levers - FUEL OFF
APU - START
AC PUMP AND PTU - ON
DC PUMP - BATT
L and R COMMON FEEDS - OPEN
APU and ENG AIR - OFF
Pressurization - MAN OPEN/DITCH
Cabin Crew and Passengers - Warn
If time permits, attempt to relight:
START SELECT - Any rotating engine
FLT START - ON
Relevant Thrust Lever - IDLE
Repeat for remaining engines
Glide Gradient;
Clean 2.5 nm per 1,000 ft, Gear down 1 nm per 1000 ft
Flaps and Stall Protection;
At Emergency power Level:
Flaps inoperative.
Flaps indicator inoperative.
Stick shake and push inoperative.
Gear;
Up if landing on water.
Down if landing on land.
At Emergency Power Level, pull and latch the EMERG GEAR DOWN lever.
With APU running, the normal selector should function.
6.05
Engine Over-speed Shutdown (memory info)
There is only one ENG OVSPD caption. The caption illuminates if any engine has shutdown because an over-speed has been detected.
Using the engine indicators, positively confirm which engine has shutdown.
6.08
Excessive Engine Vibration (memory info)
There is only one ENG VIBN caption.
It illuminates if the vibration on any engine exceeds 1.2 units.
Using the vibration level indicators, positively confirm which engine is affected.
Prolonged operation in icing conditions can result in ice accretion on the fan and engine vibrations. crews should be aware that high engine vibrations may be caused by ice on the blades, especially if more than one engine is affected.
6.09
Flight with all Engines Inoperative
Thrust Levers - FUEL OFF
Oxygen masks - Flight crew don: check oxy 100%
(Only required if cabin altitude is likely to exceed 10,000 ft)
Recommended speed for maximum glide range is VFTO + 30 KT.
If range not critical, descend to 25,000 ft as rapidly as possible.
6.15
Hot or Hung Start
Thrust lever - FUEL OFF
Check STARTER OPERATING annunciator
If STARTER OPERATING lit:
Motor engine until TGT is below 250°C then:
START MASTER - OFF
START SELECT - OFF
If STARTER OPERATING out:
START MASTER - OFF
START SELECT - OFF
6.23
Starter Operator Annunciator Lights When START MASTER Selected ON
If annunciator lights when the START MASTER is selected ON:
START MASTER - OFF
6.24
Start Power Remains On after Starting APU
If annunciator remains lit after starting the APU:
APU - STOP
6.23
Starter Operating Annunciator Remains Lit After Ground Start
If annunciator remains lit 10 seconds after engine has reached idle or remains lit after a failed start attempt
START MASTER - OFF
All thrust Levers - FUEL OFF
6.24
An Engine Rotates When START MASTER Selected ON
if engine rotates when the START MASTER is selected ON:
START MASTER - OFF
6.24
No Rotation When START or MOTOR Selected
If there is no N2 rotation within 5 seconds of selecting START:
START MASTER - OFF
6.25
No Light Up Within 15 Seconds
If there is no light up within 15 seconds of selecting START:
Thrust Lever - FUEL OFF
START MASTER - OFF
6.25
Pitch Oscillation
Airspeed - Reduce to 200 KT
FASTEN BELTS - ON
AP - Disconnect
7.06
Elevator Trim Runaway
Manually overpower the runaway using the trim wheel
Pull ELEV TRIM MOTOR CB (F8)
Re-trim manually
7.06
Roll Control Jam or Restriction
PF - Announce “Roll Jam”
AP - Disconnect / confirm disconnected.
Attempt to break out handwheel breakout strut.
Assist control with rudder if necessary.
PNF - press button and pull AIL DISCONNECT.
If unable to regain control using the handwheel:
PNF - Attempt to break out the handwheel breakout strut.
If control is not regained:
Maintain control using the aileron trim wheel and rudder.
