The participants were given a list of words to remember with a 2 second interval. The participants were then told to write down the words they remember
How long is information kept in the sensory memory?
Less than 1 second
How long is information kept in the short term memory for?
Less than 1 minute
How long can information be kept in the long term memory for?
Up to a lifetime
What is anterograde amnesia?
Some people suffer brain damage and are then unable to learn new information
What is retrograde amnesia?
Other people have suffered brain damage that has left them unable to recall anything that happened before the damage occurred
What are the 3 levels of processes?
Semantic, phonetic and structural

The information based on what they mean

The information based on how they sound
