Just as a spiders web would be stick and hard for flies to escape it so too the poet feeling trapped in his grief, feeling like he is unable to move on & feeling guilty when he finds himself laughing or enjoying himself without her in his life, this shows he death is always present

Metaphor

Just as a carousel goes round and round in a pointless fashion so too does the poet feel that he is surrounded by constant noise and that he is hearing the same things over and over again which shows that is means nothing to him and that he feels isolated and disengaged with the world since the death of his loved one

A

Just as something black implies something dark and lifeless, so too does the poet describe the thoughts that he has about what will happen to his loved one after her death, which shows what he feels lies beyond life.
