Describe meiosis and the generation of gametes.
Is a cell division that lowers the number of chromosomes in parent by half and produces 4 gamete cells.

They create gametes(sperm and eggs)

Female contains 2 chromosomes. “xx”
Males have a an X and Y chromosomes. “XY”.
Explain how independent assortment and crossing-over generates genetic diversity during meiosis.
in meiosis 1, crossing over in prophase and independent assortment in anaphase mix up alleles, creating chromosomes with new combinations.
Explain how nondisjunction result in aneuploidy
failure of the sister chromatids to separate during anaphase 2.
What is sexual reproduction?
requires two parents.
brings sperm and egg together, to make a new organism.
What is asexual reproduction?
requires one organism.
uses a reproduction called “budding” to make copy identical offspring right off an organism.
What does cytokines do ?
Cytokines splits the cytoplasm after telophase
