A

Long acting Beta2 agonist- slow onset long duration
Serevent(salmeterol xinafoate)
Anti-inflammatories- decrease inflammation will not cause broncho dilation
Leukotriene modifier: prevent inflammation by bloking leukotriene receptor
Singulair(montelikast sodium)
Corticosteroids- use inhaled for long term tx
Advair, Flovent(fluticasone furoate)
Mast cell stabilizer: prevents relase of inflammatory mediators
Tilade(nedocromil) Intal(crololyn) aka cromones
Xanthines- monitor blood levels, used later in astmas attack to decrease bronchoconstriction (Theophylline) Theolair
Anti-IgE- if asthma attack does not respond to other tx use this! Xolair(omalizumab) SQ
