PAN: PULMONARY ARTERY NEVER (lung spares)

- Any organ below the diaphragm
What are the clinical features of PAN?
-Abdominal pain and melena (due to mesentric vessels)
-Hypertension (due to renal artery)
-Neurological disturbance
-SKIN LESIONS
How do you diagnose PAN?
-Transmural inflammation (PAN=Pancyto=all)
-lesions of various stages (fibrinoid necrosis, healed woth fibrosis)
- STRING OF PEARL appearance (PAN SOP)
-Hepatitis B surface antigen (PAN’s BAG)
Treatment of PAN…
Corticosteroids
Cyclophosphamide (spamming cyclops poly times)
Which vessel is involved in kawasaki disease?
Coronary artery
Who is most likely to be affected with kawasaki?
Asians younger than 4yrs (3 asian babies on kawasaki motor)
What are the clinical features of kawasaki
CRASH and burn:-
Conjunctivitis
Rash on skin
Adenopathy cervical
Strawberry tongue
Hands and feet changes (pain fever erythema)
Burn to remember its an inflammation
What is the treatment of kawasaki?
Corticosteroids and IV imunoglobulins (pole thingy next to motor)
