Principles of capacity
A
- Capacity is assumed unless assessed otherwise.
- Unwise decision does not equal lack of capacity.
- Decisions made must be in the best interests.
- Steps must be taken to allow decisions to be made.
- Decision must be least restrictive

- Must be a disturbance/ impairment of the mind/ functioning of the brain.

- Unable to understand information

- Unable to weigh up information
