A

What is the technique for the Z track method?

A
  • Skin is pulled to one side, moving subcutaneous tissue 1-2 cms
  • Needle inserted at 90 degree angle
  • After aspiration medication is inserted into the muscle, wait ten seconds to allow medication to disperse
  • After 10 second wait, needle is released at skin is withdrawn
