Treatment for hypokalemia
High alert medication
IV: Potassium must be diluted prior to parenteral administration. For IV infusion; do not administer IV push.
PO: Oral dosage forms should be taken with meals and a full glass of water or other liquid to minimize the risk of GI irritation
Analgesic - Salicylates
Bayer - ASA - aspirin
Use for fever - antipyretic
Pain
MI prevention

Dyspepsia

Drug interactions: PLAVIX, anticoagulants, NSAIDs

Use for antipyretic and analgesic

Ethanol
Drugs which induce its metabolism
Special warning - do not exceed 3g/day
Opiates - Morphine (MS Contin) and Hydromorphone (Dilaudid)
Opiate combo - Codeine -Tylenol #3
