Q

What’s the effect of NSAIDS on the kidney?

A

NSAIDs inhibit COX-1 and COX-2 which inhibit the production of prostaglandins.
Prostaglandins cause vasodilation in the afferent arterioles which increases GFR.
As NSAIDS inhibit this they decrease GFR.
