rest position of comfort 325 mg of asprin prepare for CPR nitro high priority evac
treatment for CVA (cerebral vascular accident)
ABCs
assess/document “FAST” (facial droop, arm drift, speech, time)
reassurance
evac
treatment for a mild/moderate asthma attack
albuterol MDI 2-4 puffs
hot drink
treatment for a severe asthma attack
high flow O2
epi followed by MDI followed by steroidal
assisted ventilations if needed
evac
treatment for hyperventilation
remove stressor calm the patient slow breathing have breath into a bag reassurance
treatment for allergies
remove allergen
antihistamine
treatment for anaphylaxis
remove allergen keep patient calm 25-50mg diphenhydramine epi- repeat every 5 min if worse, 15 if doesn't improve anticipate rebound reactions evac
treatment for appendicitis
evac asap
treatment for ectopic pregnancy
treat for hypovolemic shock
evac asap
treatment for fecal impaction
hydrate
laxative
evac within 8hrs
treatment for a non-invasive pathogen
hydrate w/ electrolytes
pepto-bismol
bland food when vomiting stops
rest
