Q

Cardiology

A

Aspects we can use

  • nutritional assessment (segmental lean, SMI, phase angle, ECW ratio(s))
  • body water composition and water control to prescribe diuretics
  • body composition for non drug treatments and prevention of complications / assess mortality

Q

Diabetes

A
  1. Muscle mass monitoring / sarcopenia assessment (SMM, Segmental Lean, SMI) insulin resistance is closely related to muscle mass. Risks for diabetes and insulin resistance can be screened by InBody’s muscle analysis
  2. Obesity Assessment (PBF, VFA) VFA is the estimated area of fat surrounding internal organs in the abdomen. Healthy to keep under 100cm^2
  3. Edema evaluation and early stage renal failure screening (ECW ratios)

Q

Obesity

A
  1. Check types of fat and monitor fat reduction (muscle fat analysis, obesity/calculated analysis, VFA)
    * longer the SMM bar compared to Body fat mass, stronger the body
  2. Target weight (weight control feature)
  3. Yo yo syndrome prevention (research parameters and BCA)
    * BMR minimum calories required to sustain at resting state
    * track progress with history
