What strucutres are included in the mediastinum
Trachea, esophagus, heart, upper part of grat vessels, cardiac and phrenic nerves, thymus, lymph nodes
What type of connective tissue covers the media stinum
loose connective
What are the layers of the pericardium?
Fibrous (outter), Parietal serous, Visceral serous (inner)
What structures does the right atrium recieve blood from?
Inferior and superior vena cave, and coronary sinus
What chamber of the heart takes up the majority of the anterior surface?
Right ventricle
What chamber of the heart takes up the majority of the apex, pulmonary surface and diaphragmatic surface?
Left ventricle
What valve is found between the left atrium and ventricle?
Bicuspid or mitral
What valve is found between the right atrium and ventricle?
Tricuspid
Which chamber has a valveless opening to it?
Left atrium from the pulmonary veins
Where is the sinus venarum found and what is it?
found in the right atrium and is where vessels empty into the atrium
What are the 3 layers of the wall of the heart?
Pericardium(visceral serious), Myocardium and Endocardium
What are the branches that come off the ascending aorta?
Right to Left: Brachiocephalic, Left Common Carotid, Subclavian, Aorta
What are the 4 branches of the right coronary artery?
SA Node branch, Right marginal branch, Post interventricular branch, AV nodal branch
What are the 3 branches of the left coronary artery?
Anterior interventricular branch, Left marginal artery, circumflex branch
