  • Lateral: Mediastinal pleura (part of the parietal pleural membrane).
  • Anterior: Pericardium.
  • Posterior: T5-T12 vertebrae.
  • Roof: Imaginary line extending betweenthe sternal angle and the T4 vertebrae.
  • Floor: Diaphragm.
