The phone-hacking scandal
The phone-hacking scandal broke out in July 2011. Indeed, The Guardian revealed that News for the World, a Sunday newspaper, had some of their employees specialized in phone and home surveillance of celebrities and other famous people.

The Fourth Estate is an expression to refer to the media, especially to the press. The expression was coined in 1797 by Edmund Burke. The Fourth Estate completes the Lords Spiritual, the lords Temporal and the Commons.
