Cardiac Glycosides - improves CO, stroke volume, and allows for ventricle refill
Therapeutic use: HF, A-fib
Precautions: Thiazide, loop diuretics, ACEs, ARBs, Calcium channel blockers can increase risk of toxicity and hyperkalemia
SE: N/V, halos around light or objects can indicate toxicity
Interventions: assess apical pulse 1min before adm, hold and notify HCP if pulse <60 or abnormal
