What is thrombolytic therapy?
A
A catheter-directed thrombolytic therapy for patients with symptomatic iliofemoral DVT

What are the 4 criteria a patient must fulfill to have for ‘thrombolytic therapy’ to be carried out?
A
- Symptoms of less than 14 days duration
- Good functional status
- Life expectancy of 1 year or more
- Low risk of bleeding

A medical device placed within the vena cava to filter out emboli as a result prevent PE from forming

Patients with proximal DVT/PE who cannot have anticoagulant treatment
