Measuring Attitudes and Expectancies Flashcards
1
Q
Questionnaires
A
A survey cannot be better than the questionnaire used. Questionnaires can be limited by scales used, social desirability concerns or issues with people identifying their true motives
2
Q
Implicit associations
A
Responding consistently in line with attitudes will be done fast than otherwise. It uses a good vs bad model such that good objects will be sorted faster due to congruence of object and evaluation keys
3
Q
Considerations for implicit testing
A
Needs a control as it only measures one thing vs another rather than in absolutes. The display box itself can introduce noise into the reaction time data - this should be able to be calculated for though.
