A valuation technique for shops for comparison purposes. It is NOT a measurement technique.
What is a trundle wheel used for?
Measuring land
How do you calibrate a trundle wheel?
Measure against a known distance marked on floor checked with measuring tape or calibrated laser measure. Adjust on digital readout as per manufacturers instructions.
Pros and cons for trundle wheel?
Pros…
*easier to accurately measure long distances;
*greater accuracy compared to tape measures.
Cons…
*dependence on smooth surface;
*cumbersome in tight spaces.

When are RICS members expected to use IPMS?
Members are expected to advise clients or employer on benefits of using IPMS but it is not suitable in all circumstances. RICS members must document any reasons for departure.
