Why did the CBD become unattractive?
Because the shop rents rents were expensive, so people had to close the shops down, therefore people stop coming.
Because parking costs are to high, therefore people will use public transport.
Because more shop’s become abandoned and run down and so the city center will become more unattractive, therefore it will decrease levels of tourism.
Because there is Limited Range of Goods, so people are not going to be attracted to the city center, therefore they will shop somewhere else.
Why has shopping in Meadow hall changed?
It has changed because many shop there have left the CBD and moved to the outskirts of the city in a large out of town shopping center.
What are the advantages of Meadow hall being in a rural,urban fringe?
There is free parking which means people will stay longer in Meadow hall, so there will come to the center more often, therefore Meadow hall will be running for a longer period of time,
There is large amount of spaces to expand, so there will be able to build a range of more shops, therefore people will come more and Meadow hall will gain a good reputation.
There is cheaper land, so there will be able to buy more shops.
The rates and rents are lower than in the city center.
There is a full day experience with wide range of facilities including a leisure center, cinema and restaurants, so people will come more because everything there need is in the mall.
It is also built on a brownfield site which means there will be plenty of room for expansion, so there will be a range of more options to choose from, therefore there will increase profits.
What are the disadvantages of Meadow hall?
That there is crowded and expensive land, so people will not be able to live there.
The traffic jams cause pollution, so it will not be good for the environment.
There is also a high crime of rates, so people in the community will not feel safe in that area, therefore they will move some where else.
