What is the WARNO?
preliminary notice of an order or action that is to follow
gives time for parallel planning
5 paragraph OPORD format
minimum: type of operation, general location of operation, initial timeline, and any movement or information collection to initiate
What is the OPORD?
a directive issued by a commander to subordinate commanders for the purpose of effecting the coordinated execution of an operation
-situation, mission, execution, sustainment, command and signal
What is the FRAGORD?
FRAGORD: abbreviated operation order issued as needed to change or modify an order
-5 paragraph OPORD format
-addresses only changes

Framework for the exercise of command and control.

Commander’s principal staff officer

Synchronizes all operations in their entirety

Plans, prepares, executes, and assesses all fires tasks
What are the responsibilities of the Air Liaison Officer?
Advises the commander and staff on air and space capabilities and limitations
Works closely with the staff to ensure the smooth and effective integration of CAS into the planning process.

Rated Army aviator
Responsible for coordinating all Army aviation assets and operations at the BCT through theater arm

Assessment of the situation that enables units to better see themselves and the enemy

What is COA Development and what are the outputs?
Development of two to three COAS that must differ significantly
-COA statement and sketches, tentative task org, broad concept of operations, revised planning guidance, updated assumptions
