MCE 1&2
Central network hub and main information pathway for CMS and its subsystems. Identical in composition, and are synchronized to allow for seamless transition should one fail.
Core switch - main info pathway, redundant network backbone, 48 port Ethernet module w 10 G Ethernet module, connected via Fiber Edge Switch (Sirius, elisra, essm, 57, mass)
Fiber Edge Switch - used to connect computers, servers, and subsystems that are located within the vicinity of each cabinet. Sends data packets only where they need to go (ahwcs, ndds, ciws)
Network time protocol servers 1&2 - receives reference time from ndds.
MCE 3&4
Tactical servers: computing resources and power to run software modules. They operate on red hat enterprise Linux and utilize dual core 2.5 GHz processors with 16 GB memory. 12 servers .. 1 and 7 are system starters.. interconnected for RnS
Storage array and server: 12 x 450 gb SATA hard drives for any app that requires permanent storage

I/O processing servers 101&103
-connects legacy to core switches .. translates to TCP-IP standard
(Cantass, ciws, sps, srd-504, ramses, wvp-b)
DLPS - link 11 and 16. sharing tactical information .. tracks
SETT servers 1&2- onboard training and sims
(Can’t fire ahwcs)
