The individual’s thinking can be shifted depending upon the factors within the context the individual is in. The manner of decision making can be changed. RAT predicated on this idea

Cohen and Felson 1979: refers to the regular patterns of human activities that provide for the basic needs of the population. There are various types of routines that are specific to geographies, spaces and types of individuals.
Rate of convergence
Any change in the societal routine activities impacts the rate of convergence of likely offenders, suitable targets and capable guardians
Capitalism
Give rise to patterns of behaviour that allow crime opportunities

Opportunities influence crime involvement and society’s crime rate
