go to Side View camera –> Create a Nurbs plane (same aspect ratio as image) –> Go to shaded mode (5) –> Add a shading material with the image as its colour –> Turn on hardware texturing

A

Create the plane as a square (1 x 1 width:1 ratio:1) –> Scale it up e.g.4:3) –> size as necessary
