Nasoorbitalethmoidal injury (NOE)
occurs from direct impact to nasal region, can cause injury to ethmoid region; can lose sense of smell from CN 1; “PUG APPEARANCE”

Can cause global entrapment; restrict eye movement

Hyphema
Accumulation of blood within the anterior chamber of the globe; cause blindness
perforated globe
globe rupture that lowers intraocular pressure less than 15

Telecanthus
NOE injury causing eyes to widen due to swelling; distance greater than 45mm
loss of tongue control
mandibular fx; can cause airway obstruction
tattooing
when debris becomes embedded in the skin; can cause infection such as cellulitis and abscess
