Q

Infra-orbital a.

A

Can arise with posterior superior alveolar artery
Enters orbital cavity through post prat of infra-orbital fissure
Runs in groove and canal with n.
Emerge in face through infra-orbital foramen, deep to levator labii superioris
Branches:
Orbital: rectus inferior, obliquus inferior, lacrimal sac

Anterior superior alveolar branches: upper incisor and canines, mucous membrane of maxillary sinus

On face run to: medial angle of eye and lacrimal sac (facial a.), nose (dorsal nasal branch of ophthalmic a.), between levator labii superioris and levator anguli oris (facial a., transverse facial a., buccal a.)

Q

Greater palatine a.

A

Through greater palatine canal with n.
Gives off 2-3 lesser palatine aa.
- To soft palate and tonsil
- Anastomose with ascending palatine a.

Through greater palatine foramen
Pass forward in groove to incisive canal
Terminal part pass upwards through canal
Anastomose with sphenopalatine a.
Branches to: gums, palatine glands mucous

Q

Sphenopalatine a.

A

Terminal part
Through sphenopalatine foramen at post part of superior meatus
Branches = lateral nasal brr.
Anastomose with ethmoidal aa., nasal brr. of greater palatine a.
Help to supply paranasal sinuses
Ends in nasal septum as posterior septal brr.
Anastomose with ethmoidal aa.
1 br descend in groove on vomer to incisive canal
