Math In To Days Flashcards
Regular tessellation
a repeating pattern of congruent regular polygons that completely covers a plane with no gaps or overlaps.
Rotational symmetry
A figure that can be rotated about a point by an angle less than 360 degrees, so that the image coincides with the preimage , has rotational symmetry
Semiregular Tessellation
A repeating pattern formed by two or more regular polygons in which the same number of each polygon occur in the same order at every vertex, and completely cover a plane with no gaps or overlays.
Symmetry
The transformation of a figure such that the image coincides with the preimage
Tessellation
A repeating pattern of plane figures that completely covers a plane with no gaps or overlaps.
Translation Symmetry
A figure has translation symmetry if it can be translated along a vector so that the image coincides with the preimage.
Vertical Angle
The nonadjacent angles formed by two intersecting lines.
Triangle
A three sided polygon.
2-Column Proof
A style of proof in which the
statements are written in the left column and the reasons are written in the right column.
Transversal
: A line that intersects two or more coplanar lines at different points
