PASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Collection of distinct elements
Sets
A set which contains all the elements involved in a problem
Universal Sets
set of all possible outcome of an experiment
Sample space
A subject of a sample space, may contain some, all or none of the possible outcome compromising the sample space
Erents
is a set of all elements belonging to A or B or to both
Union of sets
consists of a single outcome or a single event that cannot be further broken down into smaller events, equally likely to happen or occur.
Simple events
number of times/possible outcomes
Probability of an event
Refers to the number of element of the set or event.
Cardinality
any events combining two or more simple events. It’s more complex than a simple event as it involves the probability of more than one outcome
Compound event
Two events, A and B are mutually exclusive or disjoint, if they have no common outcomes, they cannot occur simultaneously
