What is Ormezzano?
Ormezzano is a very famous mill just north it Biella that products some of the finest cotton, wool, and linen swatches.
What is flannel?
It is a combination of 2 different types of fibers and two different types of colors. It’s also know as the melange effect.
What are the characteristics of a GOODYEAR Welt shoe?
The Goodyear welt is a traditional two part leather structure which means the leather body is not connected to the sole of the shoe. This allows for a more breathable, absorbent fit that conforms to your foot. It also is easy if re soling becomes necessary.
What is a Blake Shoe?
The Blake is a single body structure meaning the sole and the main frame of the shoe is all one piece. This allows for a comfortable shoe that wears in a lot better.
What is Harris Tweed?
A combination of two different types of pure virgin wool handwoven. It is dyed and spun in Scotland which goes through a 5 step process to complete the final product
Describe vegetable tanning
Vegetable tanning is the organic process of coating the leather and gives it a rich color. Over time, the leather will age appropriately
Describe Chrome Tanning
This is when chromeum sulfate is used to finish the leather. It allows for a much more durable leather
What is Pebbled Leather ?
Is a textured leather made from French baby cows that is sanded down on the hair side to give it that finished look.
What is Suede ?
This is a full grain leather produced from the reverse side of the leather wear the hair is located. It’s sanded down so the knaps have a uniformed look
What is Nubuck ?
Is a leather that looks like suede but has a fine knap. This leather doesn’t allow water to stain like suede.
What is Patent Leather?
It is a connected leather that is finished with a Lin seed oil that give it that glossy look
