A layer (plate) of cartilage that allow long
bones to grow during childhood (18-25 years).

sarcomeres
sarcomeres contain what?
thick and thin filaments
what are the base unit of a tendon?
Collagen fibrils
What is a tendon?
A tendon is a flexible but inelastic band of strong fibrous collagen tissue attaching a
muscle to a bone
What is a ligament?

What is the epidermis?
a thin layer of epithelial tissue forms
the outermost layer (protective layer)
What is the dermis?
a fibrous layer than supports and
strengthens the epidermis
