What does the Master Warning System consist of?
Two master warning lights, the center annunciator panel, 5 roof annunciator panels, and a system of audible warnings
What causes an annunciator to extinguish?
The condition which caused that annunciator to light up has been removed
What bus powers the Master Warning System?
The PE bus
Where are the Master Warning Lights, and how do they alert the pilots?
The 2 lights are on the glare shield in front of the pilot and copilot, flashing alternatively
What happens if you press the Master Warning Lights when flashing?
They extinguish
What kind of annunciator causes the Master Warning Lights to illuminate?
Red annunciators only
What happens when pressing the Master Warning Lights even when not activated?
The annunciators on the center annunciator panel will dim
What causes the dimmed lights to return to full brightness?
Any subsequent annunciator lights activating
What are the annunciator types and corresponding colors on the Center Annunciator Panel?
Red (Warning), Amber (Caution), White (Advisory/Status)
How many groups, and what groupings of annunciators are located on the Roof Annunciator Panels?
5: Ice Protection, Fuel, DC Power, AC Power, Engine Fire Lights
What happens when any roof panel annunciators are illuminated?
An illuminated repeater, or “look up” annunciator on the main annunciator panel is activated
What annunciator will point to a gauge, rather than another annunciator?
The DUCT OVHT annunciator
What causes nearly all annunciators to illuminate?
The ANNUN pushbutton on the overhead test panel
What controls the dimming level of the annunciators (and isn’t the Master Warning Lights?)
The Dimming Control Panel
Dimming Control switch set to NORM
Able to use the MWS rheostat (knob) to adjust annunciator intensity
Dimming Control switch set to DIM OVRD
Bypasses the dimming circuit in case of a failure, sets annunciators to full brilliance
What causes the engine fire detection audible warning, and how can it be silenced?
An engine fire is detected on either engine; the bell can be cancelled by pressing the respective BELL CANCEL button
What causes the landing gear warning horn?
The aircraft is in a state where the gear is in any position other than down and locked, and the flap handle is in the approach or landing position OR gear handle is up on the ground and the start bus is on
What causes the airbrake warning horn?
The aircraft is in a state where the gear is down and locked, both throttled above 60-70% N1, and the airbrakes are not stowed
What causes a horn when the throttles are below 60-70% N1?
The aircraft is in a state where the gear is not down and locked, either throttle is below 60-70% N1, and airspeed is below 150 KIAS
What speeds cause the overspeed horn?
Exceeding 335 KIAS (no fuel in ventral tank), 280 KIAS (fuel in ventral tank), 0.80 Mach
What causes the cabin altitude horn to sound?
Cabin pressure has exceeded 9,300’ ± 300’, or 14,000’ ± 300’ when High Datum mode selected
What causes the Anti-Icing chime to sound?
The TKS timer hits zero
What lights do we have on the Hawker 900XP?
Standard navigation wingtip/tail lights, 2 landing lights, 4 taxi lights, 2 anti collision beacons, 3 strobe lights, 2 wing ice inspection lights, 2 (optional) logo lights
Where are the exterior lighting controls in the cockpit?
Lower left corner of overhead panel
What lighting switches are two position and three position?
BEACON, NAV, STROBE - 2 position
ICE/LOGO - 3 position if logo installed, otherwise 2 position
LANDING/TAXI - 3 position, cannot turn on landing lights without taxi lights turning on
