Lidocaine: Indications
A
Indications:
- Antiarrhythmic used for control of ventricular dysrhythmias
- Prior to intubation of pt with suspected increased intracranial pressure
- Anesthetics for nasotracheal intubation and intraosseous procedures.

- Cardiac Arrest
- V-tach
- Post-Resuscitation
- Nasotracheal

A
Cardiac Arrest/V-tach w/ pulses
- 1-1.5 mg/kg IV/IO
> repeat dose at 0.5-0.75 mg/kg q 3-5 min, max of 3 mg/kg
> Maint Infusion: 2-4 mg/min
Post Resuscitation:
- 1-1.5 mg/kg IV/IO, followed by
- Maint Infusion: 2-4 mg/min
Nasotracheal Intubation:
- 2% Lido Jelly
Intraosseous
- 0.5 mg/kg, max of 40 mg of 2% lidocaine, IO slow bolus, followed by 10 mL NS flush.
