Physiological
Physiological: Physical survival necessities such as food, water, and shelter.
Safety
Safety: Protection from threats, deprivation, and other dangers.
Social
Social (belongingness and love): The need for association, affiliation, friendship, and so on.
Self esteem
Self-esteem: The need for respect and recognition.
Self actualization
Self-actualization: The opportunity for personal development, learning, and fun/creative/challenging work. Self-actualization is the highest level need to which a human being can aspire.
Hertzberg 2 factor theory
The two-factor theory states that there are certain factors in the workplace that cause job satisfaction while a separate set of factors cause dissatisfaction, all of which act independently of each other
Hygiene factors
Hygiene issues, such as salary and supervision, decrease employees’ dissatisfaction with the work environment.
Motivating factor
Motivators, such as recognition and achievement, make workers more productive, creative and committed.
