A

No lights nor was it indoors
Hence facial expressions were redundant so actors wore masks which added to the performance

A
  • slightly larger than life size making them more visible
  • tragic masks painted with the solemn expressions of tragic characters
  • made of linen, cork or wood and had openings for eyes and the mouth
  • some hair attached at the top to act as a wig
