Mary was a very religious catholic and her policy was to turn everyone in the country into the popes authority; into catholics.

A
For:

- she dampened the wood to make the fire burn slower - more painful death
Against:
- Recommended execution method of the Catholic Spanish Inquisition
- 1555, Mary thought she was pregnant—affected her mental health = very unhappy and impacted her perspective on Protestants
- thought the reason she had no children was because God punishing her for letting Protestant heresy in England (Cardinal Pole assumed this)
