  • Then they proceeded to move towards where Mary was held captive.
  • However, they failed to advance any further when the Earl of Sussex raised an army against them.
  • Spanish troops never arrived.
  • But they never got to her as Elizabeth was tipped off and she managed to move Mary further South.
