Refers to differences in the number of males and females present across occupations. E.g. nursing is a female dominated industry.

Describes men’s domination of the highest-ranking jobs in both traditionally male and traditionally female occupations.
What feminist theory links to vertical segregation?
The concepts of ‘glass ceiling’, ‘concrete ceiling’ and ‘glass elevator’.
