Marxism, Fascism Flashcards
Marx
Tried to explain human history through one macro level theory which emphasizes a unique historic analysis of its evolution through social - economic changes.
Iceburg
According to Marx what shapes history and lays in the ‘Base Structure’ are the ‘production forces’ which are made up of all technological facilities a society has, which also dictates the type of resources which are used (for example coal was the main energy source during the 19th’ century) and the quantity of its production. This process shapes the ‘production relations’.
Production relations
The types of interactions and relations which form economic activities. This kind of activity through human history, was expressed by class struggle. Since the forces in the Super Structure serve the ruling class (through ideologies, laws ect.) they are not relevant, since they are only a by product of the class struggle which takes place in the Structure Base.
The historic process to revolution
According to Marx a society has to transfer from a Feudal agriculture society to an industrialized society resulting from an industrial revolution. This would result with the appearance of Capitalism, which will be followed with a class struggle. The revolution will only be completed after the working class will gain full control, abolish Capitalism and achieve full social – economic equality.
Socialism
economic theories of social organization advocating state collective ownership and administration of means of production and distribution of goods, and an egalitarian
society characterized by equal opportunities for all individuals and a fair egalitarian distribution of wealth.
