Religions acts as a conservative force, but this is negative and it maintains capitalism and therefore class inequality

religion maintains capitalism, therefore preventing revolution (social change). this is because religion is an ideological state apparatus - it transmits the bourgeoisie’s ideology to the w/c. it does this by justifying class inequality
