usually divorces occur in the 40s
2% men 20% women get remarried

New right theorist and claims that cohabitation is a ‘trial’ marriage and shows you are not fully committed. trad views and believes marriage is only meant for a woman and a man.

believe that couples no longer feel need marriage is necessary to prove their love for eachother and couples are choosing cohabitation as a long-term option. don’t need it to legitimise pregnancy.
