Definition of Marriage
The legal union of a man and woman of a same-sex couple.
Marriage is Christianity
They believe in the sanctity of marriage- it’s a holy gift from God.
It’s a lifelong commitment.
One man. One woman. For life. This is called faithfulness.
The ONLY relationship for sex.
For Catholics it is a sacrament.

What is cohabitation?
A couple living together but are not married and are having a sexual relationship.
Arguments for Cohabitation
Get to know each other before making a lifelong commitment.
They can break up but without the cost of a divorce.
Bring up children just as easily.
Marriage may not be important to them.
Arguments against Cohabitation
Can encourage a casual relationship towards sex and relationships.
Too easy to break up.
Children are best brought in in a home with 2 married parents.
Bible supports lifelong marriage.
Non-religious views on marriage
No single view on it.
Atheists- they are happy to have a civil marriage.
Humanists- sometimes have a specific wedding service.
Atheists and Humanists both value faithfulness in their marriage.

Marriage is chosen and valued by God.
