Marley’s remorse

- The noun ‘chain’ has connotations of something
heavy therefore suggesting how Marley is physically carrying his burdens around
with him. In addition, a chain also can also suggest imprisonment implying how
Marley will never be free from his mistakes as there is no key to free him. - the use of the verb ‘forged’ implies that Marley made the mistakes
and he has to take responsibility for his choices and selfish decisions.

consequence of his behaviour towards people during his life.
